Set on the very first day of the alien invasion, the film follows Sam (Lupita Nyong’o), a terminally ill cancer patient in New York City with her service cat Frodo. While on a group outing in Manhattan, mysterious objects fall from the sky, unleashing blind extraterrestrial creatures that hunt by sound. Sam must navigate the sudden chaos of a noisy city turned deadly silent, teaming up with a reluctant survivor (Joseph Quinn) as she tries to survive—and fulfill one last personal wish.
